| Elite runners like Haile, Kenenissa, Sileshi, Tirunesh, Meseret, train routinely at altitude to increase the number of red blood cells, improving oxygen delivery to their muscles. In medical terms; in high altitudes, the amount of oxygen in the blood reduces because there’s less oxygen in the air. To compensate for reduction of oxygen in the air, the kidneys secrete more a hormone called erythroprotein, which causes the body to create more red blood cells.

How long should your training cycles be ?
Our altitude trainings for professional runners are scheduled on 3 weeks workout sessions, in order to reach a peak in endurance performance, avoiding unnecessary overloads.
Whilst for semiprofessional runners, we will start at a lower pace and build the workout intensity over 2 weeks.
If you are an amateur runner, ENTOTO is an exciting place where you can combine running and relaxation and reap the benefit of both.With a comfortable pace, you can run, walk, jog as you wish. You will have days to relax, swim, go to gim and sauna, allowing your body to heal and prepare for the next run.
